Timothy Ijach and Abdulrazak Mufutau scored as Nigeria came from behind to secure a point, extending their unbeaten start to two draws ahead of their clash with The Gambia.

Nigeria’s Future Eagles recorded their second consecutive draw at the inaugural FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival after playing out a 2-2 result against Jordan in their second Group AD match in Baku, Azerbaijan, on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
Captain Timothy Ijach and Abdulrazak Mufutau scored for Nigeria, who came from behind to secure a point after Jordan overturned their early lead with two goals.
The result followed Nigeria’s 3-3 draw against South Sudan in their opening match on Saturday, leaving the Future Eagles with two points from their first two fixtures.
Ijach and Mufutau Score for Nigeria
Nigeria took the lead in the 24th minute through captain Timothy Ijach, giving the Future Eagles an advantage in the contest.
Jordan responded five minutes later when Zinedine Abushaer scored in the 29th minute to make it 1-1.
The Jordanian side then moved ahead in the 37th minute through Abdelrahman Khear, putting Nigeria under pressure as the match approached its conclusion.
The Future Eagles continued to push for an equaliser and were rewarded in stoppage time. Abdulrazak Mufutau scored in the 40+2nd minute to make it 2-2 and rescue a point for Nigeria.
Despite scoring twice, Nigeria are still searching for their first victory of the competition. They have scored five goals and conceded five across their opening two matches.
Future Eagles Face The Gambia Next
Nigeria will face The Gambia later on Sunday, October 25, at Hovsan Pitch 6B, Hovsan Competition Complex, in their third scheduled group-stage fixture.
The match offers the Future Eagles another opportunity to claim their first win after consecutive draws. They will need to convert their attacking contributions into a victory as the qualification stage continues.
Nigeria are also scheduled to face Cyprus and Pakistan on Monday, October 26, in their remaining group-stage matches.
Group AD Standings
Following Nigeria’s draw with Jordan, South Sudan, Cyprus and The Gambia were level on four points in the standings provided before the remaining matches on Sunday. Nigeria had two points, Jordan one and Pakistan none.
South Sudan (4 pts, +1 GD)
Cyprus (4 pts, +1 GD)
The Gambia (4 pts, +2 GD)
Nigeria (2 pts, 0 GD)
Jordan (1 pt, -1 GD)
Pakistan (0 pts, -3 GD)
Note: These standings are provisional and may change after the remaining Group AD matches.
Unlike conventional tournaments in which teams are eliminated after the group stage, the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival uses a tier system. Each team’s final group position determines the tier it enters for the next phase, from Tier A for the group winner to Tier F for the team finishing sixth. No team is eliminated at the end of the qualification stage, meaning Nigeria will continue in the tournament regardless of their final group position.
