1. Acceptance of these Terms
Welcome to AdemolaSports (the “Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, content, and related features.
By accessing the Service, creating an account, or by signing up or signing in, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and the data practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. About the Service
AdemolaSports is a Nigeria- and Africa-focused sports media platform that publishes news, analysis, and editorial storytelling. We may add, change, or remove features at any time to improve the Service. Content is provided for general informational purposes and does not constitute professional advice.
3. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Keep your login credentials secure and notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We use Clerk to manage authentication, as described in the data section below.
4. User content & conduct
If you submit content - for example as a writer, applicant, or commenter - you retain ownership of it but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content on the Service.
You agree not to:
- Post unlawful, defamatory, hateful, or infringing material;
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation;
- Attempt to disrupt, scrape, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its data;
- Upload malware or use the Service to distribute spam.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms at our discretion.
5. Intellectual property
All original articles, branding, logos, and design elements on the Service are owned by AdemolaSports or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may share links and brief quotations with attribution, but you may not republish substantial portions of our content without prior written permission.
6. How we track, monitor & use your data
We take your privacy seriously. To operate the Service, keep it secure, measure performance, and fund free journalism, we rely on a number of trusted third-party service providers - including providers for authentication and account management, website and product analytics, advertising, image and media hosting, email delivery, payment processing, and error monitoring. Each provider receives only the data it needs for its specific purpose, is bound by its own privacy and security obligations, and we do not sell your personal information.
Cookies & similar technologies
We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality (such as keeping you signed in), for aggregated analytics, and - where applicable - for advertising. Most browsers let you control or block cookies through their settings; disabling essential cookies may affect how the Service works.
What we collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may process: account details (such as your name and email), newsletter subscription status, content you submit, and technical data (such as device, browser, approximate location, and usage events). We use this data to provide and personalize the Service, communicate with you, measure and improve performance, display advertising, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.
Data retention & your rights
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law. Subject to applicable regulations (including the Nigeria Data Protection Act and, where relevant, the GDPR), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
7. Third-party links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites and services that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their terms and policies before using them.
8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will always be accurate or current.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AdemolaSports and its founders, staff, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
