Observations

The tournament provided exposure to different styles of play. The results reflect areas requiring attention, particularly in defensive transitions during the first two matches. The draw against China in the final game showed improved organisation from the team. Coach Uwejamomere Eboboritse Omasanjuwa and the technical team now have match data from an international game to guide the next phase of preparation.

Such invitational tournaments are a standard part of youth team development. The focus will now shift to addressing the identified gaps as the Golden Eaglets prepare for the WAFU B U17 Championship, which serves as a qualifier for the U17 AFCON and, ultimately, the 2027 FIFA U17 World Cup.
