Nigeria 2-0 Côte d’Ivoire: Flamingos Make It Four From Four at WAFU-B U17 Girls Cup

Oluwakemi Adegbuyi and Pattra Oparanmegwa scored as Nigeria’s Flamingos beat hosts Côte d’Ivoire 2-0 to stay perfect at the 2026 WAFU-B U17 Girls Cup.

Nigeria’s Flamingos made it four wins from four at the 2026 WAFU-B U17 Girls Cup with a 2-0 victory over hosts Côte d’Ivoire on Thursday at the Lycée Scientifique in Yamoussoukro.

The win takes the Flamingos to 12 points from four matches and keeps them top of the table. Côte d’Ivoire remain on six points.

Adegbuyi strikes early

Nigeria needed only four minutes to take the lead.

Oluwakemi Adegbuyi scored in the 4th minute to give the Flamingos a 1-0 advantage against the hosts. It was her third goal of the tournament after finding the net against Ghana and Burkina Faso.

The Flamingos held that lead through to half-time.

Côte d’Ivoire, who had scored 12 goals in their first three matches including a 9-0 win over Niger, were unable to break Nigeria down.

The Flamingos made the points safe in the 83rd minute when substitute Pattra Oparanmegwa made it 2-0.

Nigeria saw the game out for another clean sheet.

Nigeria remain top

The Flamingos now have 12 points from four games, with four wins from four.

Nigeria opened the tournament with a 5-0 victory over Niger, beat Ghana 4-2 in the Jollof Derby despite a red card, then defeated Burkina Faso 2-0 with two late goals.

Thursday’s 2-0 win over the hosts is their fourth consecutive victory.

Nigeria have now beaten every opponent they have faced in Yamoussoukro and have conceded only twice in four matches.

The Flamingos close their programme against Togo on Sunday.
