Golden Eaglets Camp to Open This Week Ahead of WAFU B U-17 Championship
Nigeria Golden Eaglets will open camp this week as preparations begin for the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Boys Championship, which will be held in Burkina Faso from November 16 to November 29, 2026.
Head coach Eboboritse Uwejamomere, who recently led the Golden Eaglets on an international tour of China, will oversee an intensive training programme as the team begins its build-up to the regional tournament.
During their tour of China, the Golden Eaglets competed at the 2026 CFA International Youth Football Tournament in Yinchuan, where they gained valuable international experience. Nigeria suffered a 3-2 defeat to Tanzania in their opening match, lost 4-2 to Australia in their second outing, and rounded off the tournament with a 1-1 draw against hosts China.
The training camp will be held at the Goal Project Pitch, located inside the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, where invited players will compete for places in the final squad ahead of the competition.
The WAFU B U-17 Championship will serve as an important test for the Golden Eaglets as they aim to secure qualification for the next U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
