Nigeria Golden Eaglets, Derby Academy Play Out 1-1 Draw in Abuja
Nigeria’s U-17 side twice threatened to take control but had to settle for a draw as both teams scored after half-time.

The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria and Derby FA played out an entertaining 1-1 draw at the Sunrise Football Pitch in Abuja on Friday as Nigeria continued preparations for the WAFU B U-17 Championship.
Derby FA started brightly on home turf and were rewarded in the first half when Marcus converted a penalty to give the Abuja-based side the lead.
The Golden Eaglets responded with increased pressure and eventually found the equaliser through Michael Ekundayo, who restored parity for the five-time world champions.
Both teams continued to push for a winning goal, producing an open contest, but neither side could find the decisive finish as the friendly ended 1-1.
The match formed part of the Golden Eaglets' preparations for the WAFU B U-17 Championship, which begins in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on October 10.
Nigeria are drawn in Group B alongside Côte d’Ivoire and Niger Republic, with the Golden Eaglets set to play their opening match on October 14.
