NIGERIA GOLDEN EAGLETS DRAWN IN GROUP B FOR WAFU B U17 CHAMPIONSHIP, EYES ON AFCON TICKET

Nigeria Golden Eaglets have been drawn in Group B alongside Côte d’Ivoire 🇨🇮 and Niger 🇳🇪 for the upcoming WAFU B U17 Championship.
The draw sets up a demanding group for Nigeria as the five-time FIFA U17 World Cup champions begin their quest for regional glory and a place at the U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
Nigeria will be returning to the WAFU B U17 Championship after competing in the 2025 edition, where the Golden Eaglets reached the semi-finals before suffering a 2–0 defeat to Ghana. The result ended their campaign and also saw Nigeria miss out on qualification for the 2026 U17 AFCON.

The Eaglets had previously finished third in the 2024 edition, defeating Ghana 3–2 in the third-place match.
With a new tournament ahead, Nigeria will be looking to put those disappointments behind them and make a stronger statement this time around.
Côte d’Ivoire and Niger will provide a stern test in Group B, but Nigeria will enter the competition with the pedigree, talent and experience of one of Africa’s most successful youth football nations.
