What to Expect
Nigeria’s unbeaten record offers encouragement heading into the next phase, but the draws against South Sudan, Jordan, The Gambia and Pakistan also show that the team will need to turn more of its attacking opportunities into victories.
With 11 goals scored in five matches, the Future Eagles have demonstrated an ability to find the net. Maintaining their attacking output while improving their defensive organisation could be important against New Caledonia.
The match is part of the tournament’s second phase, where teams compete in performance-based tiers according to their qualification-stage results. Teams continue playing through to the end of the event.
