Flamingos coach set to take on a new assignment with Remo Stars Ladies

Akeem Busari is set to take on a new role with Remo Stars Ladies while continuing his assignment with Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos.
Busari recently guided the Flamingos to the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup title in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire, where Nigeria won all five matches and scored 17 goals.

The tournament success adds to Busari’s current assignment with the Flamingos as the team prepares for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
Busari has also had experience in the domestic women’s game. He previously worked with Pacesetters and was part of the technical crew at Bayelsa Queens during their 2025 NWFL Premiership Super Six title-winning campaign.
His expected role with Remo Stars Ladies gives him an opportunity to combine his ongoing national-team responsibilities with club football experience.
Further details on the formal unveiling and structure of his role with Remo Stars Ladies are expected to be announced by the club.
